Senior officials of Rajasthan have been summoned by the special privileges committee of the Parliament on August 11 in Delhi. Those summoned include Chief Secretary Rajeeva Swaroop, DGP Bhupendra Singh, ADG Intelligence Umeesh Mishra, Secretary CMO Amit Dhaka and the then Barmer SP Sharad Choudhary. They were summoned earlier also.
They have been summoned in relation to a complaint put forth by Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal. Beniwal’s convoy had been stoned when he was travelling across Baytu in Barmer on 12 Nov 2019. Union Minister Kailash Choudhary was also with him. Beniwal had written to the LS Speaker, saying cops at the spot had taken no action and no FIR was filed though shots were fired in the air and their cavalcade was attacked. He had said it was a breach of his privilege and urged strict action against the errants.
