Almost a similar translation is being followed in Ajmer's Bhinay block, where Holi was celebrated by whipping. Known as the Kodamar Holi, the tradition lasts for 3 days from the day of Dhulndi.

According to the tradition, half the village is the king's team and the other half is the queen's team. One team is called Chowk and the other is called Kavadia. Ten players each from both the enter the field with a turban tied on their head. Both sides kept hitting each other with whips tied with thick ropes. These whips are soaked in water to make them harder. The teams push each other back. The one who pushes more becomes the winner. After the Koda Maar Holi is over, everyone hugs each other.
