Mumbai: The much-anticipated elections have kick-started in the world's largest democracy on Friday. The voting in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will begin shortly. Elections will be held in seven phases across the entire country, and the voting will end on June 1. The counting of votes and the results for the elections will be announced on June 4.

In the first phase of voting, 102 constituencies from 21 states and union territories are going to the polls on Friday. Around 1,625 candidates are in the fray, and their fate will be locked in the EVMs during the first phase of polling across the 102 Parliamentary Constituencies."
