Chennai : Tamil folk artiste Kovan, who was arrested for criticising Chief Minister Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK government over liquor issue, on Saturday vowed to continue his struggle against Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), which has a monopoly over wholesale and retail vending of alcoholic beverages, saying that nobody can stop him.
“I’ll continue my struggle against TASMAC till I reach my goal, nobody can stop me,” he told media while being taken to a prison after the court ended his police custody and sent him to judicial custody. Kovan was sent to a two-day police custody yesterday. Kovan was arrested from his residence by the Cyber Crime department on October 31 after his video went viral on social media. In his controversial song, Kovan allegedly attacked the Jayalalithaa Government, saying the Chief Minister was enjoying, while the state was reeling under the influence of alcohol.
