India reports 46,617 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours; cumulative death toll crosses 4 lakh mark

India on Thursday morning marked a grim milestone, with the cumulative COVID-19 death toll hitting the four lakh mark. As per Health Ministry data, the country reported 46,617 new cases and 853 deaths in the last 24 hours. At the same time, , 59,384 people recovered from the virus.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported since 2020 has risen to 3,04,58,251. Of these, a little more than five lakh cases remain active.
