The famous Ramlila Maidan in Delhi is all decked up for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and new cabinet of Delhi that is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 20, after 11 am.
According to reports, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena will administer the oath of office to the CM-designate and the cabinet at 12:35 pm.
Among the prominent guests who are expected to attend the grand event are PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers, and NDA Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs from different states.
According to reports, the BJP, which returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, has extended invitations to gig workers, cab and auto drivers, farmers, as well as slum dwellers.
Women beneficiaries of BJP-led Central government's welfare schemes are also invited to the event.
Apart from the BJP leaders, courtesy invites were also sent to outgoing CM Atishi, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, and Delhi Congress president Devendra Yadav.
Ahead of the grand ceremony, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh reviews the ongoing final preparations for the oath ceremony on Wednesday. He mocked AAP for their defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections and said that the people of Delhi had punished a tyrannical ruler for his lies, deceit, and fraud.
While speaking to ANI, Chugh said, "The people of Delhi have given their blessings to PM Narendra Modi. These abundant blessings have transformed into a mandate. Tomorrow, a historic event will take place in Delhi. I believe this will be the most historic event to be held at Ramlila Maidan... The people of Delhi have punished a tyrannical ruler for his lies, deceit, and fraud."
Meanwhile, the BJP high command has appointed former union minister Ravi Shankar Pradas and MP Om Prakash Dhakar as observers for electing the leaders of the Delhi BJP Legislature party.
