In a bizarre incident, a wedding was called off after a fight broke out between families of bride and groom over bride’s attire.
According to India Today, the incident took place in Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, where Varsha Sonawa and Vallabh Pancholi were to get married. Varsha is a government servant and Vallabh is a civil engineer by profession. But, before the marriage ceremony could take place, an argument broke out between both families after the groom’s family took objection to Varsha wearing an evening gown. The groom’s family insisted that Varsha should wear a saree instead of a gown. The groom’s family further demanded that she wear a pallu on her head.
But Varsha refused to do so, which resulted in an argument. The situation became worse and both the families reached the police station. According to the report, the groom himself ferried the entire baraat to the police station. Police officials rushed to the police station to mediate between the two parties. But, after 3 hours of discussions, the couple finally called off their marriage.
