On Sunday the Gautam Budh Nagar Administration announced that the Delhi-Noida border would remain sealed.
"In 42% of the cases, source of infection has been tracked to Delhi," the official said.
Earlier, on April 22 the border had been sealed as a preventive measure. According to an earlier NDTV report there had been some exceptions to the ban, with essential service personnel and vehicles carrying essential items were permitted to cross the border.
On Sunday, for the fourth day in a row, Delhi recorded over a thousand new positive cases. At present the total number of cases recorded in the national capital stands at more than 19,800. The death toll has risen to 473, the Delhi government said.
On Sunday Delhi recorded 13 deaths and 1295 new COVID-19 cases. Reportedly a total of 57 deaths were declared on 30th May, 2020.
