Vadodara: At least five Congress workers were arrested on Friday for burning a Pakistan flag during a protest against the ceasefire violations by the troops of the neighbouring country from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir, police said, PTI reports.

At the protest near the the Abhilasha crossroads, Congress workers raised slogans against Pakistan and demanded that India must take military action against it for the cross-border firing.

Congress worker Jitendra Solanki said, “We burnt the Pakistan flag to show our anger over the killing of innocent people (in the firing).”

The ceasefire violations by Pakistan have left eight persons dead and nearly 90 people, including 13 security personnel, injured. Also, around 32,000 people have fled their border homes, leaving 113 hamlets deserted along the International Border.
