3.7 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Delhi-NCR; Second Quake In 2 Days

An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 struck Haryana's Jhajjar on Friday evening. Tremors were felt across the Delhi-NCR region. This is the second day in a row when an earthquake has shaken Haryana and nearby areas.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km at 7:49 pm.

Notably, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake had struck near Jhajjar on Thursday morning.

Yesterday, Delhi Metro trains were stopped for 2-3 minutes after tremors were felt.

Notably, earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale hit Delhi-NCR at a depth of 5 km in February this year.

Delhi falls under Seismic Zone IV. This zone is categorised as a "High Damage Risk Zone" and indicates a high potential for earthquakes of moderate to high intensity, as per Delhi Disaster Management Authority.
