Actor Bobby Deol recently remembered his late father, veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89 due to an age-related illness, at his residence in Mumbai. Six months after his demise, Bobby said that while he always knew his father was loved worldwide, the overwhelming grief and condolences that poured in after his passing reflected how deeply the entire world mourned him, much like his own family did.

Bobby Deol Gets Emotional Remembering Dharmendra

Appearing on Shekhar Suman's show Shekhar Tonite on YouTube, Bobby was asked about one thing he would always remember about his father. Overcome with emotion, he paused and said there couldn't be just one memory, adding, "Everything about him is worth remembering. Unki har ek cheez pyaar thi, unka gussa bhi pyaar tha…"

Shekhar Suman Talks About Dharmendra

Upon seeing Bobby struggle to put his emotions into words, Shekhar stepped in and reflected on what made Dharmendra truly special, saying that he gave the same kind of love to everyone that he gave to his sons, Sunny and Bobby.

Shekhar added, "He spoke to each of his fans through his Instagram videos, taking them around his farmhouse. He was the simplest man."

Dharmendra Funeral

Dharmendra's mortal remains were taken to the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai under tight police security, where a hush-hush funeral was conducted shortly after the news broke.

Two Prayer Meets Held For Dharmendra

Dharmendra's funeral was attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Agastya Nanda, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Salim Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, among others.

Two prayer meets were held for Dharmendra, one by his second wife Hema Malini at her Mumbai home, which included bhajans and a reading from the Bhagavad Gita, and another by his sons, Sunny and Bobby, at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End hotel in memory of their father.
