Ranveer Singh opened up about the support he received from the Ambani family when some of his films were struggling at the box office. The actor appeared emotional as he thanked them for their love, encouragement and backing.

Actor Ranveer Singh made a rare appearance in a Reliance documentary, where he opened up about his blockbuster films Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge and the challenges involved in bringing the ambitious project to the big screen. The actor also expressed his gratitude towards the Ambani family for backing the film and supporting him during a challenging phase of his career.

Ranveer Singh Talks About Dhurandhar For First Time

Speaking about the film, Ranveer said that Dhurandhar was far from easy to mount or execute. He recalled the challenges involved and the conviction required to take such a major creative risk. "Dhurandhar was not an easy film to mount, not an easy film to execute. There were several challenges," Ranveer said.

He added that the team had to move forward with the belief that if the film worked, "we will be breaking new ground."

'Even When My Movies Were Not Doing Well...'

The actor also got candid about his career and revealed how meaningful the support from the Ambani family was, particularly when some of his films were not performing well.

"I was given all the love, all the support and all the encouragement. Even at a time when my movies were not doing well,” Ranveer said, appearing emotional as he reflected on the ups and downs of his career and the unwavering support he received during a challenging phase.

He further described his association with the Ambani family as “nothing short of a blessing, an honour, and a privilege.”

Jyoti Deshpande On Dhurandhar's Budget

While, Jyoti Deshpande, President of Jio Studios, also opened up about the scale of Dhurandhar. She revealed that the makers knew from the beginning that the film’s budget would exceed the original estimate. Despite this, they decided to go ahead and commit the capital required to shoot both parts together instead of waiting to see whether the first instalment would succeed.

According to Deshpande, the decision ultimately paid off, with audiences responding strongly to the film and recognising the sincerity behind the project.

Dhurandhar, Dhurandhar 2 Total Box Office Collection

Released in 2025, Dhurandhar emerged as a massive box-office success, grossing Rs 1,056.62 crore in India and Rs 293.03 crore in overseas markets, taking its worldwide total to Rs 1,350.83 crore.

The success was followed by Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which hit cinemas on March 19, 2026 and went on to surpass its predecessor at the global box office. The sequel grossed over Rs 1,852 crore worldwide, including Rs 1,361 crore from India and Rs 475.93 crore from international markets.

Together, the two films have turned the Dhurandhar franchise into a major box-office phenomenon.
