Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey strongly reacted to a video that has been doing the rounds on the internet, in which a group of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers can be seen assaulting a restaurant owner in Mumbai's Mira Road for not speaking in Marathi. The Bigg Boss OTT fame called the incident "sickening".

Sharing the video on his X handle, the Ek Tha Tiger questioned the law and order in the state of Maharashtra, and tagging Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, wrote, "This is sickening. Monsters on the loose, looking for attention and political relevance. Where’s L&O? (sic)."

Ranvir Shorey hits back at X user

Soon after Ranvir shared the post online, an X user responded to it, saying, "Since how many years you now live in Maharashtra? How much effort have you taken to learn Marathi? (sic)."

Not one to stay mum, Ranvir hit back at the user and said that while he was not against the language, he believes there are better ways to teach it to people. "First, I’m not answerable to a hateful anonymous troll like you for any of these questions. Second, you’re really dumb if you think beating people up will make them learn and speak a language (sic)," his reply read.

He went on to say, "And finally, if you do want to bring attention to the issue, there are more positive & constructive ways to bring about change, or even protest for political mileage, instead of beating hapless citizens who’re just trying to make a living! (sic)."
