Kangana Ranaut has always been a point of discussion for her public indifferences with many personalities in the film industry. But, she is also known to be one of the very few actresses, who for the longest time maintained that she will never work with the leading Khans of Bollywood.
During her appearance on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan, Kangana had answered in her rapid fire round that she wouldn't want to work with any of the Khans. Infact, many years ago, the actress was also approached to be the lead opposite Salman Khan in Sultan. The role was eventually essayed by Anushka Sharma. As far as Aamir Khan goes, Kangana had publicly claimed that he was her best friend and mentor till her much-publicised spat with Hrithik Roshan turned the equation around. As far as Shah Rukh Khan is concerned, Kangana's views differed from the superstar's basis on their political interests.
But it seems like the actress is in a mood to extend the olive branch and make amends.
In a recent interview, the 36-year old Padmashri recipient has shared, “I have never said anything unreasonable about the Khans. My main issue was the shorter female roles (in their films) and the age of the actresses who were cast opposite them.”
Commenting further, the Tejas actress maintains, “See, how that is changing now. Actresses over 35-40 are becoming the heroines of Khans. So, I have fought for these changes. Otherwise, we used to see the heroines of Khans play their mothers 8-10 years down the line. So, we have fought for these changes.”
While it is agreeable to a considerable extent that a difference has been witnessed in the decisions and views put forth by the Khans, it is left to be seen if Kangana will finally do a big film opposite any of the reigning superstars.
Meanwhile, Kangana plays the role of Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot. She is slated to narrate the story of the courage and bravery of the Bharat soldiers.
Apart from Tejas, Kangana will also be a part of Emergency, in which she will play the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. It is slated to be released in 2024.
