Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has once again found herself in the spotlight in connection with the Rs. 200 crore extortion case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The actress has reportedly been summoned by a Delhi court to appear as a prosecution witness in the case. Her name features in the third supplementary chargesheet filed in connection with the matter.

According to a report by ANI, Nora hs been asked to appear before the Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on November 2, 2026. She has been called to depose as a witness in the ongoing proceedings. Notably, being summoned as a prosecution witness does not mean that the actress has been accused of any wrongdoing in the case.

The case has previously brought Nora's name into the investigation over her alleged interactions with people associated with Sukesh and luxury gifts she reportedly received through his associates. However, the actress has consistently denied any involvement in money laundering or other illegal activities. Her representatives had earlier maintained that she was a victim in the matter and had cooperated with the investigating agencies.

How Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s Rs. 200 Crore Extortion Racket Came Into Limelight?

The Rs. 200 crore extortion case dates back to 2020, when alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar reportedly began targeting Aditi Singh, wife of former Ranbaxy promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh, who was lodged in jail in connection with a money laundering case. According to the prosecution, Sukesh allegedly impersonated senior government officials, including officials from the Ministry of Law, and contacted Aditi with promises of securing her husband's release on bail in exchange for money. He reportedly used call-spoofing technology to make his calls appear as though they were coming from government offices, making the deception more convincing. The alleged extortion racket continued for over a year, with Sukesh operating from inside Delhi's Rohini Jail with the assistance of associates and allegedly compromised jail officials.

The matter came to light in August 2021, when Aditi approached the Delhi Police after receiving another demand for Rs. 1 crore. A trap was subsequently laid, leading to the arrest of individuals collecting the money and eventually Sukesh himself. The investigation later uncovered an alleged network involving money laundering, luxury gifts and several high-profile connections, bringing Bollywood personalities under the scanner.
