CBSE Class 10 Maths Board Paper Exam Pattern 2025: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold the Class 10 Mathematics- Standard and Class 10 Mathematics- Basic examinations tomorrow, March 10. Both papers will be conducted in a single shift, from 10:30 AM - 01:30 PM.

CBSE introduced two levels in the Class 10 Mathematics examination: Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic. This way, students can choose a level suitable for their expertise and their future studies. The basic concept of the difference between Standard and Basic levels is in terms of difficulty level of questions, as more complex problems will be in the Standard level. But they both follow the same syllabus.

In the year 2025, as per records, around 24,12,072 students registered for the CBSE Class 10 examinations for a total of 84 subjects. These examinations were held at 7,842 centres across India and 26 countries outside India.

CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025: Maths paper exam pattern

1. Total Marks: 100

2. Duration: 3 hours

3. Theory Paper pattern:

Section A: 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Section B: 5 Very Short Answer Questions.

Section C: 6 Short Answer questions.

Section D: 3 Long Answer questions.

Section E: 4 Case Study-based questions.

4. Total marks for the theory exam is 80 marks and for the practical exam, it is 20 marks.

CBSE Board Exams 2025: Important guidelines

1. Candidates may bring a clear pouch, geometry or pencil box, blue or royal blue ink pen, ballpoint pen, or gel pen, scale, writing pad, eraser, analogue watch, transparent water bottle, Metro card, bus pass, and cash, among other items.

2. Prior to writing the exam, candidates should thoroughly review all of the instructions on their question papers and answer sheets.

3. Students must retain their admit cards in the exam hall. Regular students must keep their school ID card, whereas private candidates must provide a government-issued photo ID.

4. Regular students will wear their school uniforms, whilst private applicants will wear light clothing.
