Jaipur: For better crop produce return, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today asked the state agriculture department to strengthen cold storage chain network for the benefits of farmers. Horticulture department should also explore possibilities of flower cultivation and their exports from Rajasthan, reviewing the department’s progress for next year’s annual budget here the Chief Minister directed.

There was an urgent need to strengthen and expand cold storage chain with other states’ network so that farmers could get benefit from the national capital and other big cities for storage of produce, she said. She also advised the departments to lay empahsis on solar based pumps for irrigation instead of electricity run pumps saying it would save energy consumption and farmers would get cheaper energy.
