New Delhi: The Delhi High Court asked former Fortis Healthcare promoter Malvinder Mohan Singh to deposit Rs 17 crore with the court’s registry by October 10. However, Daiichi Sankyo had sought that the amount be transferred directly to them, an appeal which Singh objected to and instead suggested that the amount be deposited into a fixed deposit account with the court. The court ordered that the amount be deposited with the registry first, and said it will hear both parties’ arguments on October 11. Singh had been asked to deposit the sale proceeds with the court as he had sold 4.5 crore shares in Religare Health Trust, listed on exchanges of Singapore, in April, despite a February order of the court ordering status quo.
Interim CFO named Fortis said its board has approved appointment of Girish Gupta as interim Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. He replaces Gagandeep Singh Bedi. Gupta is a commerce graduate from Shriram College of Commerce and a qualified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, it said.
