Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: The heavy engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said on Thursday it has won significant contracts for critical reactors, equipment and systems for process plant sector. The orders were bagged from clients in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia against stiff global competition, it said without mentioning their value. The company describes a significant contract with value ranging between Rs 1,000 crore to 2,500 crore.
L&T Heavy Engineering has four strategic business units: process plant, nuclear, defence and aerospace, and critical piping. It has integrated manufacturing facilities at Hazira in Surat, Powai in Mumbai and Vadodara. The company supplies technology-intensive equipment and systems to companies globally in refinery, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, thermal and nuclear power industries.
“The critical equipment being manufactured are the centrepieces of process plants and demand total commitment to safety, quality, delivery and reliability,” said Senior Vice President Y S Trivedi. “Our unique ability to execute large volumes combined with focus on operational excellence and digitalisation initiatives have helped us improve our competitiveness and value of offerings to our customers,” he said in a statement, adding that 2018-19 has been significant for the company. L&T is an Indian multinational engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services with over 18 billion dollars in revenue and operations in over 30 countries.
