The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju came for a two day visit to DG HQ Assam Rifles , Laitkor Shillong on 30 Sep 17. Accompanied by Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Mr Rijiju inaugurated the Renovated Assam Rifles Museum and visited various locations inside DG HQ.
In the evening Mr Rijiju attended Dussehra Barakhana organised by Assam Rifles, where he spend time interacting with the troops, enquiring about their wellbeing and appreciating their work.
Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, during his second day of visit at HQ Directorate General of Assam Rifles at Laitkor, Shillong laid a wreath at the War Memorial and paid tribute to the Martyrs. He was accompanied by Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, DGAR and Maj Gen R K Gupta, ADGAR.
