Mumbai: Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC) reported a marginal year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 51.1 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 50.7 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Consolidated revenue from operations declined to Rs 993.4 crore from Rs 1,091.3 crore a year earlier, while sequentially remaining almost unchanged from Rs 992.2 crore reported in Q4 FY26.

Opening Performance Summary

The engineering and construction company recorded consolidated total income of Rs 1,055.5 crore during the quarter, against Rs 1,118.7 crore in Q1 FY26.

Profit before tax improved marginally year-on-year to Rs 74.4 crore from Rs 73.3 crore, reflecting stable profitability despite lower revenue. Total expenses stood at Rs 981.6 crore during the quarter.

Sequential Performance

Compared with Q4 FY26, revenue remained broadly flat at Rs 993.4 crore versus Rs 992.2 crore. However, net profit declined from Rs 58.9 crore in the preceding quarter to Rs 51.1 crore.

Total income increased from Rs 1,017.5 crore, while expenses rose to Rs 981.6 crore from Rs 931.3 crore, affecting quarterly profitability. No exceptional items were reported during the quarter, unlike the previous financial year which included one-time items.

Key Drivers

During Q1 FY27, HCC secured a new order worth Rs 125 crore and emerged as the lowest bidder for projects valued at about Rs 2,124 crore, with HCC's share estimated at Rs 1,671 crore. Bids worth nearly Rs 9,997 crore remained under evaluation.

The company reported progress across hydroelectric, metro, bridge, industrial and nuclear infrastructure projects during the quarter. Basic and diluted earnings per share stood at Rs 0.19 each.

Full-Year Context

For FY26, HCC reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 3,969.6 crore and net profit of Rs 165.5 crore.

The company stated that Engineering and Construction remains its sole reportable business segment.

The statutory auditors continued their qualified review concerning deferred tax assets and certain receivables under negotiation or litigation.
