Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today introduced the Union Budget for the year 2018-19 amid huge expectations. The Budget could pinch your wallet more if you want to buy a new mobile phone or a TV. Union Budget 2018 announced changes in excise and customs duties on certain items which are set to get costlier after the budget.

Usually, a common man avidly waits for the Budget to know what’s getting costlier and what’s turning cheaper. Meanwhile, as per the Budget, Customs duty on mobile phones has been increased from 15% to 20%. Education cess increased from 3% to 4%.

To note, this year’s budget has been very crucial for the Modi-led govt. The changes done in the budget will guide the govt in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The budget came after the implementation of the Goods and Service Tax (GST).
