The best Scrabble players from across India will vie for top honours in the 3rd GAIL Scrabble Cup to be held here from July 22 to 24, 2016. Being hosted by the Scrabble Association of Delhi (SADel), the internationally rated tournament is expected to see participation by over 60 word enthusiasts, including the top five players of India. For the first time, a number of players from Pakistan and Singapore will participate in the tournament. Following its inception in 2005 under its president Dr. Marisha Sharma, SADel organizes the state-level under-18, Open Scrabble Championships and the national-level GAIL Scrabble Cup annually. This year’s tournament will have an overall prize pool of Rs 2 lakhs, with the winner to be awarded Rs 40,000 by SADel. The participants will range from preteens to senior citizens.
