Renowned television host and actress Mini Mathur recently recalled an incident when she spent Rs 20 lakh on food in a single night.
Mini is one of the most successful television hosts, popular for hosting the hit singing reality show 'Indian Idol' for six seasons.
She has also been a VJ with MTV and recently, she played the lead in the series 'Mind The Malhotras' for which she received numerous awards.
Mini Mathur recalls spending Rs 20 lakh on food
During a recent interaction with Cyrus Broacha, Mini recalled that she once won Rs 20 lakh on a quiz show, but she blew the entire sum up in a night.
Mini shared that the quiz show was called 'Heartbeat' in which contestants had to answer questions within 100 heartbeats, and the winning amount was Rs 20 lakh.
She revealed that after she won the whopping amount, she treated her friends to a lavish dinner and blew it all up.
"I did have 22 people and I remember I took them all for dinner to Marriott," she recalled.
'Salary at MTV was Rs 50,000': Mini Mathur
She also revealed that when she had started at MTV, her salary was Rs 50,000, which was way less than what she was earning while she was in Delhi, hosting other shows.
During the interaction, Mini also shared that she landed her first advertisement gig by sheer luck.
She shared that Sushmita Sen was modelling in those days and she could not reach for a woman pilot advertisement on time, due to which Mini was asked to fill in for her, and the rest is history.
