Raisen (Madhya Pradesh): Two young lovers, living in a long-distance relationship, allegedly ended their lives almost simultaneously on Saturday.
According to reports, two suicide cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh. The first case was reported in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen, where a woman identified as Sakshi Dhakad, 23, residing at her maternal grandfather’s house in Chilli village, Udaypura, Raisen, hanged herself at around 6am.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Meena, 26, a site engineer living in a rented room in Kesarbag Colony on Maksi Road, Ujjain, attempted multiple methods before ending his life at the same time.
Initially, both the suicide cases were not interlinked. However, on Sunday, after an investigation, both the deceased were romantically connected and had called each other before their hanging themselves.
According to reports, the young man first slit his wrists and neck, then attempted to electrocute himself. When nothing worked, he hung himself from the railing outside his room. Rishabh was originally an engineer from Raisen and had moved to Ujjain for work.
The investigation confirmed the couple shared a deep emotional bond, and the near-simultaneous timing of their deaths has left authorities and the public stunned.
An initial investigation of the call details and chats confirmed that they had a lengthy conversation throughout Friday night. Rishabh made his last call to Sakshi around 6 am on Saturday.
After this, he put his mobile on flight mode. According to the police, although the two villages were approximately 350 kilometers apart, the timing and decision to commit suicide were pre-planned.
However, both the deceased didn't leave any suicide note; hence, the reason behind this extreme step remains unclear.
