Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Tragedy unfolded in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur after a 4-year-old girl accidentally fell into a well along with a tractor, triggering panic and an urgent rescue response.
The incident occurred under the Chandranagar outpost within the Bamitha police station limits of the district. The girl is a resident of Dhamna village and is approximately four years old.
According to reports, the keys to the tractor were left in the vehicle itself. Unfortunately, while playing, the young child inadvertently started the vehicle, causing it to spiral out of control and plunge directly into a well.
Upon receiving immediate notification of the incident, police forces were deployed to the scene, and a rescue team is currently engaged in efforts to safely extract the child.
Rescue operations are underway amidst a heavy police presence at the site, and the entire village remains in a state of shock and panic following the incident.
The incident has raised serious concerns about negligence and safety practices, especially in rural areas where heavy vehicles are often left unsecured.
The innocent playfulness of a young girl, combined with significant negligence, has thrown the entire village into turmoil. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further details are awaited as the rescue operation continues.
Overloaded tractor overturns
Earlier in January, an overloaded tractor carrying steel bars overturned into a pond on the Lavkushnagar–Chandla road in Chhatarpur. The driver died on the spot, and a minor on board was critically injured in the accident.
According to reports, due to the uneven weight of the steel bars, the tractor lost its control while taking a turn and overturned directly into the pond.
