MP: Congress Remains Tightlipped On Muslim Atrocities, Says MLA Arif Masood

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): ‘Congress remains quite on atrocities done by government on Muslims, MLA Arif Massod said in the party working committee meeting here on Friday. After the formation of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), its first meeting was called.

Here, few of the party leaders came on front foot against state president Jitu Patwari on his recent decisions. Few more members supported Masood’s statement in the meeting. MLA Ajay Singh also raised question on ‘work division; done by the state president.

AICC general secretary and state in-charge Jitendra Singh supported the president’s decision and said that to raise the party few hard decisions have to be taken. Ex-CM Digvijaya Singh alleged that the state government as well as the Government of India is curtailing the budget allocated for SC/ST people and are also not giving appointments to these classes.

Preparations in full swing

The party has stepped up preparations for its grand 'Samvidhan' rally, which will be held on January 27 in Mhow, the birthplace of Dr BR Ambedkar. Nearly a dozen committees have been formed to ensure the success of this significant event.

The rally ‘Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Samvidhan,’ to include All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and several senior party leaders. The event will feature a march in Mhow followed by speeches by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.

Jitu Patwari and state in-charge Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, are holding a series of meetings with various committees at party headquarters in Bhopal. Jitendra Singh arrived in the state capital late on Thursday to finalise preparations. This marks the first major event organised by the Congress in the state following its electoral setback in November 2023’s Assembly elections and subsequent Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
