Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Crime Branch on Thursday arrested another associate of DJ Yaseen in the high-profile MD drug syndicate.
The arrested accused identified as Anshul Singh aka Bhuri has past criminal record and has been arrested following questioning from the prime accused Yaseen during his police remand, police officials said.
Additional DCP (crime) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said police received clues about Anshul’s association with the syndicate while scanning the mobile of Yaseen which included chats and bank transactions.
Further information about Bhuri was shared by Yaseen, following which the arrest was made. He was produced before the court and has been taken on police remand till August 4.
The police will question him over his role in the drug syndicate, firearms and sexual exploitation racket, Chauhan added.
Police officials said Bhuri, a resident of Tulsi Nagar area, has a past criminal record and has around 20 cases of Arms Act, Excise Act, attempt to murder, smuggling, extortion and assault registered against him at TT Nagar and other police stations of the city. It is suspected that Bhuri used to work for the syndicate as a drug peddler.
Meanwhile, the police have got clues about another associate of Yaseen and his uncle Shahwar. The suspect, a resident of the old city area, runs a betting racket and went into hiding after the syndicate was busted by the Crime Branch.
Police officials have also forwarded a letter to the district administration for cancellation of gun licenses of Yaseen’s family members.

Another harassment case against Yaseen
On Wednesday night, another case for harassment was registered against Yaseen. The victim alleged that Yaseen made her addicted to drugs and molested her. Police have found videos of the victim in Yaseen’s mobile.
Shaharyar Ahmed resigns from BJP Minority cell
Yaseen’s uncle Shaharyar Ahmed, the district president of BJP Minority cell has stepped down from all party responsibilities.His resignation follows the busting of a drug and firearms syndicate by police, in which his brother Shahwar and nephew Yaseen are the prime accused.
Shaharyar in his resignation letter claimed that he has no involvement in the matter but he chose to resign to avoid any negative impact on the party’s image.
However, he affirmed his continued loyalty to the BJP, saying: “I have been a dedicated worker, I remain so, and I always will be.”He requested that his resignation be accepted until the investigation concludes.
