Madhya Pradesh Ranks Second In Number Of Schools Nationwide

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh has secured second position in the country in terms of the number of schools. This has been revealed in the latest Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) report released by the union government recently.

The report compares the status of government, government-aided, private, and other schools between 2014 to present. According to report, MP has 1,23,412 schools, including 92,439 government, 581 government-aided, 28,910 private, and 1,482 other schools, serving over 1.53 crore students.

The state has 6.39 lakh teachers, with 21% teaching in foundational schools, 38% in middle schools, and 41% in secondary schools.

To enhance education quality, the state is developing 730 schools under PM Shri scheme, including 626 in development blocks and 104 in municipal areas across 52 districts.

These schools are being equipped with libraries, vocational education, ICT labs, Atal Tinkering Labs, and advanced infrastructure to provide holistic learning opportunities. Under CM Rise scheme, 9200 schools are being upgraded in two phases.

In the first phase, 274 schools were approved, with 22 buildings completed, featuring modern classrooms, labs, sports facilities, and free transport. Each school costs at least Rs 31 crore. In 2024-25, 276 more schools will be developed with similar facilities.

Additionally, Shramodaya Vidyalayas are transforming education for children of labourers, offering resources and opportunities. With 39.4% foundational, 35.7% middle, and 14.9% higher secondary schools, Madhya Pradesh is setting benchmarks in education through innovation and infrastructure development.

These initiatives are ensuring better outcomes and brighter futures for students across the state.
