Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A major accident was averted on Thursday in the MP Nagar area of the capital city, when a part of the main road suddenly collapsed during the rain.
Fortunately, no passerby was present there at the time of the incident, otherwise there could have been serious loss of life and property.

According to eyewitnesses, this road is the route of movement of thousands of people every day.
Immediately after the incident, Congress leaders reached the spot and staged a protest on the road and made serious allegations of negligence and corruption against the administration.
MP Nagar SDM Laxmikant Khare reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. He said that in the preliminary investigation it has come to light that there is a drain under the road and its soil slipped due to rain, due to which this collapse occurred.
The depth of the sunken road is about 8 to 9 feet, length is about 3 meters and width is 1.5 meters.
Authorities immediately got the area barricaded so that no accident takes place. Along with this, instructions for repair have also been issued.
The SDM Khare told Free Press that this road came under PWD from CPA in the year 2002. The entire matter will be investigated and if any officer is found negligent, strict action will be taken against him..
