Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed the basement of IB library in MP Nagar after finding violations of mandatory fire safety norms during a surprise inspection on Friday.
Acting on the instructions of BMC Commissioner Sanskriti Jain, a joint team of the BMC Fire Brigade, zonal officials and district administration officials inspected coaching centres and institutions in MP Nagar to check compliance with fire safety standards.
The inspection team found inadequate fire safety arrangements at IB Library located at Plot No. 15, Zone-2, following which the basement was sealed.

Notices were also issued to seven other institutions, including HDFC Bank, directing them to install required fire safety equipment and submit compliance reports within two days.
HDFC Bank was instructed to install smoke detectors, fire alarms and fire extinguishers.
Other institutions, including NEET Mentor Classes, Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Education Bhavan (Rau Academy), Pratigya Samajseva Kalyan Samiti and Aradhya Library, were directed to complete pending safety arrangements such as fire exits, hydrant systems and fixed firefighting facilities.
