BHOPAL :The Govindpura police are still groping in the dark regarding the motive of the person(s) who stole the car along with a 60-year old woman sitting in it while the vehicle was parked at Vegetable Market with its keys in the ignition in Govindpura area. Prima facie it seems that the accused wanted to steal the car but the statement of the woman and his son were creating troubles for the police.
TI Govindpura RK Malviya said Meena Thakkar, 60, resident of Indrapuri, who was abducted along with car (MP04 CC 9951), in her statements told the police that when the accused started the engine of the car she asked them where were they taking the car and also to let her son return. The accused told her that they were her son Yogesh’s friend and were going to drop her home. After some time they tied her up.
Her son Yogesh Thakkar, who was a businessman, claimed that the abductors made a ransom call to him using his mother’s phone.
TI Malviya said that the motive of the accused seems to be of stealing the car as they removed its back number plate and changed one of the digits in the front number plate.
CSP Govindpura Dr Shiv Dayal said that police suspects the role of some acquaintances of the family and have asked Yogesh to submit a list of his friends so that their statements could be recorded.
The victim said that the accused were talking about some Kolua village after which the police sent teams to Kolua Khurd in Ashoka Garden and Kolua Kalan in Bilkhiria area to gather information. Yogesh was a regular visitor to these villages in connection with his business.
