Seventy-four constituencies where both the BJP and Congress are locked in a ding-dong battle will decide who will form the government. Both, the Congress and BJP are equally positive about these constituencies and believe their polling outcome will go in their favour.
BJP and Congress are claiming to be winning more than 140 seats and form the government in the State. The two rival parties are taking these constituencies in their seats tally. BJP and Congress both are in position to win some of these seats and the remaining seats would decide the party forming the government.
There are 13 seats in Bhopal and Hoshangabad divisions including Betul, Timarni, Seoni Malwa, Hoshangabad, Silwani, Basoda, Shamshabad, Bhopal South-West, Ashta, Ichawar, Sehore, Narsinghgarh and Biaora, where there is neck and neck battle between the two parties.
Similarly, Bagli, Indore-1, Indore-5, Rau, Agar, Susner, Mandhata, Khargone, Sendhwa, Rajpur, Jobat, Jhabua, Petlawad, Sardarpur, Dharampuri, Ghattia, Badnagar, Malhargarh, Badwani and Jawra, Alot and Neemuch in Indore and Ujjain division, where there is tough fight.
In Gwalior and Chambal division, there are seven seats, including Gwalior rural, Karera, Pohri, Vijaypur, Sabalgarh, Jora and Ambaha were there is close contest. In Sagar division, there are seven seats including Khurai, Chatarpur, Teekamgarh, Khargapur, Jabera, Panna and Pavai where the contest is tight.
Fight is also tough in 13 seats in Rewa and Shahdol division, including Raigaon, Satna, Nagod, Rampur Baghelan, Teonthar, Mangavan, Mauganj, Gud, Sidhi, Chitrangi, Beohari, Jaitpur and Pushprajgarh. There are 12 seats in Jabalpur division, including Patan, Gotegaon, Badwara, Bahoribandh, Bichia, Balaghat, Varaseoni, Katangi, Barghat, Lakhnadaun, Sonsar and Chhindwara were the outcome of polling in uncertain.
There are 51 seats out of the above mentioned 74 seats, which were won by the BJP in the previous elections. BJP had changed its sitting MLAs on 15 seats and gave chance to new faces. Congress is facing tough fight on the 19 seats which it won last time. The four seats won by BSP and independent candidates are also witnessing tough contest. All parties are seen making claims on these seats.
