BHOPAL: The lack of funds has always been stated as one of the reason for the poor condition of Hamidia Hospital. In a review meeting on Friday, principal secretary (PS), health and medical education, Gauri Singh informed that Rs 4 crore has been sanctioned for the purchase of necessary medical equipment and Rs 25 lakhs for the construction of micro-virology laboratory.
After the sudden inspection by chief minister Shivarj Singh Chouhan in December, revamping of Hamidia Hospital was expedited and the department of Medical education has been actively monitoring the development of the hospital. A separate sample collection centre and development of HIMS (hospital information management system) has also been ordered. Though the development of HIMS had been under process since 2015 but it has not come into effect till now.
Till now half of the medicines were taken from JP Hospital but now stock of 269 medicines has been brought which will be available through a counter in case of emergency apart from regular supply to necessary ward. Two operation theatres and trauma center has also been opened where doctors will be available round the clock.
