Bhopal: Call centre set up for poll-related plaints

Chief Electoral Officer V L Kanta Rao said on Tuesday that a call centre with the toll-free number-1950 has been set up for the election-related complaints, he said.  Complaint related voter identity card, voter list, violation of model code of conduct and poll-related problems on this number. Ten executives have been appointed to register complaints on this number.

Similarly, call centres have been set up in the districts, and the complaints lodged at these centres will be redressed.  The deputy district election officers have been made nodal officers of these call centres. Complaints received at national, state and district call centres will be forwarded to the NGS (National Grievances Service).

The complaints will be sent to the district contact centres through NGS. The nodal officers will redress the complaints and feed the detail on the NGS portal. Rao said the Integrated Contact Centre established by the Election Commission would work on a two-way communication system. Complainants are required to give information about themselves at the time of lodging the complaints.  The complaint number will be sent on the mobile number of the applicant through unique ID number after lodging the complaint.
