Morena (Madhya Pradesh): An Army man allegedly shot dead his wife, dumped her body at a hospital and fled, in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, as reported on Friday.
According to information, the incident happened in the Khajuri Road area under the Ambah police station limits in Morena district during a family dispute.
After shooting his wife, the suspect allegedly took her to a hospital but fled after realising that she had died.
The police later launched a search operation and arrested the suspect. A murder case has also been registered against the suspect jawan’s parents.
The suspect was identified as Sohan Singh Sinkarwar alias Sonu, who is posted in the Indian Army. He allegedly shot his wife Rani Sinkarwar (30) in the head with a pistol during a dispute.
Rani suffered serious injuries and collapsed after being shot. The suspect reportedly took her to a hospital for treatment.
However, when he realised that she had died, he allegedly left her body at the hospital and escaped.
The hospital authorities immediately informed the police. Following this, Ambah police set up checkpoints in the area and arrested Sohan Singh.
During the preliminary investigation, police found that the couple had been facing family disputes for a long time.
Based on the statements of the woman’s family members, police registered a murder case against Sohan Singh, his father Narottam Singh Sinkarwar, and his mother Munni Devi.
The victim’s father, Ramesh Tomar, accused the in-laws of being responsible for his daughter’s death and demanded strict action against them.
Ambah SDOP Ravi Prakash Bhadoria said police received information about a woman being shot dead late at night. He added that the suspect husband was taken into custody immediately and further investigation was underway.
Police are questioning the suspect to recover the weapon used in the crime and determine the exact reason behind the killing.
