From in-flight proposals to unconventional announcements, flights have recently become the stage for unforgettable moments. One such heartwarming instance has gone viral. It shows a pilot surprising his mother with a special speech as he flew her to another country for the first time.
The video, shared by pilot Aswath Pushpan, opens with the boarding procedure. It captured the emotional exchange when the mother stepped onto the aircraft. As she entered, Aswath greeted her with a warm hug, setting the tone for what was to come.

"Amma...very special guest"
Once boarding was complete, the pilot-son made an announcement over the in-flight communication system, which is otherwise used by the cabin crew members to deliver travel and safety instructions.
The clip recorded the incident from the mother-son duo's international flight. “I have a very special guest on board this flight. This person is someone whom I always take to the grocery store or the salon, and today, it’s the first time I’m taking her to another country", he said.
He then revealed with a smile, “This special person is none other than my mom".
"You can't tell my driving is bad"
Ending his announcement in a playful way, Ashwath added, “Amma, this time you cannot tell that my driving is bad.”
Though cockpit access is typically restricted, the video also featured a photo of Aswath with his mother inside the cockpit.
Aswath posted the video on Instagram with the caption: “Cleared for takeoff – with the most special passenger on board! Welcome onboard, Mom.”
The video has gone viral with 1.8 lakh likes and more than eight million views.
