On Saturday, another case of sudden death due to a heart attack while dancing enthusiastically was reported. A man who was grooving at a wedding function suddenly fell on the floor and was said to have passed away from a heart attack. Meanwhile, the video from the shocking incident surfaced online and showed how others nearly ignored the deceased and continued to celebrate amidst high music.
Local media reports identified the deceased as a man in his 20s named Sanjay s/o Shrikrishna, a resident of the Rampur area of Etah district in Uttar Pradesh. Sanjay was dancing at a close relative's wedding in Shahjahanpur village last evening when he suddenly collapsed to the ground and passed away.
Similar incidents in the recent past
Earlier this June, a 52-year-old man named Mahendra Sharma died at Noida Stadium in Sector 21A after collapsing during an energetic game of badminton. The police told the media that the man suffered a heart attack and when brought to a nearby hospital was pronounced dead.
In March 2023, a senior government employee who was dancing at a cultural gathering in Bhopal collapsed and was reported dead due to a heart attack. Also, in another incident from Madhya Pradesh itself the same month, 17-year-old son of Ujjain Mahakal Temple priest breathed his last after a heart attack while displaying his sword fighting moves during a ceremony.
During Navratri rituals last year, a 35-year-old man performing garba also saw a similar fate in Virar, Maharashtra. Visuals from these shocking instances surfaced online and left people in worry. Despite claims that such frequent cases of sudden demise due to a heart attack could be a fatal side effect of vaccination against the coronavirus, there is no clear confirmation of it.
