A uniformed policeman was caught on camera smoking 'charas' in a commercial vehicle in Pakistan's Punjab. A local reporter, who approached the vehicle to film the making of hash in the region, shockingly came across a cop smoking it there.
A video recording showed the cop holding a roll of hash in his fingers and smoking it up, only to flee from the spot after seeing the reporter filming him red-handed.
"Ye ji charas bann rahi hai aur Punjab Police khud bhi pee rahi hai charas (Charas is being prepared here and Punjab Police is also consuming it)", the reporter said in the video.

Cop flees after being filmed on camera with 'charas'
When the reporter approached the vehicle, he managed to record the police officer smoking 'charas' himself and expose him. However, the cop pushed the reporter and tried to escape, followed by the reporter's attempt to nab him.
The visuals captured the reporter chasing the policeman who was spotted smoking hash in broad daylight while seated in a commercial vehicle where it was being prepared.
Reporter runs behind cop
"Ye Punjab Police bhaag rahi hai aur charas bhej bhi rahi hai, pilva bhi rahi hai. Ye policewala, ye log kya hamari hifazat karenge (This Punjab Police is running and was selling charas... How will these safeguard us)?", the reporter was heard saying while running behind the cop.
The video showed the cop fleeing into a cantonment area, a no camera and secured zone, which made it difficult for the reporter to catch hold of him.
Reporter draws attention of senior police official
"See this. He is not stopping and going towards Cantt., where camera is not allowed", the reporter said in Hindi while drawing the attention of the Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab into the matter. "IG Punjab sir, what is the use of keeping such people in force?", he added.
Cannabis legal in Pakistan?
Earlier this year, the Pakistan government took a major decision legalising cannabis use for medicinal purposes. The move came in a bid to overcome the economic crisis the country is currently facing. However, cannabis and marijuana continue to be illegal in the country for recreational use.
