Millions of people including fans and commoners tuned in to hear BTS give a speech at the United Nations General Assembly. BTS's message was one of optimism, change, and world acceptance. With their appointment as Special Presidential Envoys of Future Generations and Culture, BTS sent out a call to their fanbase to show them how they have spent the last two years living in a pandemic and how they are living now, and they will share these Youth stories with the world through their speech, according to RM, the band's leader.
V emphasised that โone would not think about their future as a hopeless dark one. Because we do in fact have people who are actively seeking, thinking and working for the best path for our world and future.โ
Instead of being referred to as the "Lost Generation," Jin believes they should be referred to as the "Welcome Generation," as they represent a generation of young people that welcome change rather than dread it. Suga in his speech said that it doesn't matter if the steps are a little clumsy as long as they are taking action to improve the globe. Along with each member emphasizing on various important topics, the band also emphasised the need of immunizations during the pandemic, referring to it as the key to restart life.
