Kanpur: An allegedly drunk snake charmer caused a commotion on the road in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. Holding a snake in his hand, the man approached passers-by and attempted to enter nearby shops. People seated inside the shops were drinking tea, but upon noticing the snake in his hand, they began to panic, getting up and running away. A video of the incident has surfaced and has gone viral on social media.
The footage shows the snake charmer placing the snake around a man’s neck inside a tea shop, causing panic among those nearby. When shopkeepers and local residents protested, the snake charmer exited the premises.
Moments later, he threw the snake towards a female constable at a nearby intersection. Startled and frightened, the constable screamed and fled the scene.
Immediately afterwards, the snake moved towards another police officer standing nearby. He quickly dismounted from his motorbike and also ran away.
According to Dainik Bhaskar, after witnessing the snake charmer’s antics, the shopkeepers came out of their shops. Realising he was surrounded, the snake charmer quietly picked up the snake, placed it back into a basket, and fled the scene.
