Koki Shishido, a Japanese man currently living in India, is no stranger to sharing his experiences from the country with his followers. Known for his viral reels showcasing his excitement for Indian cuisine, Koki recently took on a new challenge — introducing the much-loved Indian digestive tablet, Hajmola, to his friends and acquaintances in Japan. He asked them to pop a Hajmola pill to record their candid reactions on camera. And as expected, the reactions were noteworthy and worth giving a watch.
In his latest video, Koki distributed Hajmola tablets to people of Japan, which are known for their bold combination of salt and spices to aid digestion. These tablets, which carry a strong salty taste are popped in as a post-meal treat in India. However, the dish comes as a surprise of flavours to those abroad, making Koki's dear ones wondering what they just tried and why they agreed to do so.

He shared some of these pills with people and asked them to give it a try. It was their first time that they tasted this Indian digestive tablet. So, the results were as amusing as you'd imagine.
As soon as the first person tried Hajmola, the punchy taste hit him and made him say "Ahhh...". Similar reactions were recorded from his friends too.
Did someone like it?
The video then captured how Koki's grandparents reacted to trying this pill. Not different, they too disliked it and have a very uneasy reaction on popping it. This made him hilariously say "Sorry" to the elderly couple for making them try something unimpressive. "Sorry for mera dada aur dadi ji", he said.
While most Japanese people didn't enjoy the strong Hajmola feel, two restaurant owners found it interesting. They seemed to be curious about the tablet.
Koki said in the video, "The couple who run this spice curry restaurant loved Hajmola". The video is going viral on Instagram, leaving viewers in splits. Laughter emojis flooded the comment section.
