A viral video recorded a passenger being helplessly thrashed by railway officials. The chilling visuals showed TTE and a train attendant assaulting the man in a moving train. They made the passenger lie on the passage of a train coach and the rail attendant repeatedly charged a belt on the man while the ticketing officer held the man ensuring he didn't escape.
NDTV India shared the video on social media and reported the incident to have occurred inside the 15708 Amrapali Express routing between Amritsar and Katihar railway stations.

2 rail officials attack passenger with belt, kick him
The footage opened by showing a uniformed rail attendant pulling out his belt to attack the passenger.
The man was beaten up with a belt on his hips and back. He was also stamped and kicked by the two officers.
In the video, the TTE was seen keeping his leg on the passenger. He sat on the passenger's back ill-treating the man, followed by stamping him with his boots. Also, the coach attendant was seen trying to pull out the passenger's pants after hitting him repeatedly on his buttocks with the belt.
Abuses hurled at passenger
The video also recorded the furious attendant hurling verbal abuses at the passenger. "Mada**od, ra*di ka ch**da", he was heard saying in the video.
As the video surfaced online, netizens questioned the railway officers for ill-treating the passenger. They noted that it was unacceptable for the TTE and the coach attendant to assault the passenger and suggested the two rail officials should have approached the Government Railway Police (GRP) into the matter.
Internet condemns act as video goes viral
The internet condemned the TTE and the train attendant for mercilessly thrashing the passenger with a belt and kicking him on the rail floor.
"Are these railway employees or railway goons?", one wrote while reacting to the viral visuals from the Amritsar-Katihar Express. "If there is any mistake, call RPF and get them off the train - but what is all this? Since when did they start providing this (thrashing) facility in train travel?", another commented while tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and requesting him to look into the case.
Police action follows
The Indian Railways took cognisance of the matter and reportedly suspended the officials for drinking onboard and assaulting the passenger.
An update in this case pointed out that the TTE and coach attendant consumed alcohol along with the passenger. It was under the influence of alcohol that the passenger allegedly tried attacking the TTE, followed by the two railway officials thrashing him. A police case was registered against the TTE Rajesh Kumar, and two coach attendant - Vikram Chauhan and Sonu Mahato - involved in this matter.
