Rae Bareli Event: CM Yogi Adityanath Pays Tribute To 1857 Hero, Honours Martyrs' Families

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Awadh Kesari Rana Beni Madhav Bakhsh Singh Smriti Sabhagar in Rae Bareli on the freedom fighter’s 222nd birth anniversary. The ₹21 crore memorial was opened during a tribute ceremony featuring a souvenir release, postal cover launch and screening of a film on the 1857 hero. Martyrs’ families were also honoured.

Lucknow, August 24: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Raebareli on Monday, where he participated in the Bhav Samarpan Samaroh organised on the occasion of the 222nd birth anniversary of Awadh Kesari Rana Beni Madhav Bakhsh Singh, the immortal hero of the First War of Independence of 1857. As the Chief Minister arrived, the venue resonated with slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’ On this occasion, he was welcomed with a Rudraksha sapling and a Trishul.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the exhibition set up at the venue. Thereafter, he released the Awadh Kesari Smarika. The Chief Minister also released a special cover prepared by the Department of Posts. He inaugurated the newly constructed Awadh Kesari Rana Beni Madhav Bakhsh Singh Smriti Sabhagar, built at a cost of nearly Rs 21 crore, by pressing a button.

A film based on the life journey, valour and bravery of Rana Beni Madhav Bakhsh Singh was also screened during the programme.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister honoured family members of martyrs with shawls and certificates of honour:

Smt. Suman Yadav (Lalganj) - Nayak Vinod Kumar was martyred in 2007.

Smt. Lalita Devi (Dalmau) (wife) - Nayak Rajendra Yadav was martyred in the Kargil War.

Smt. Krishnavati (Unchahar) (wife) - Nayak Surendra Yadav was martyred in the Kargil War.

Smt. Gyanvati Devi (Sadar) - Havildar Randhir Singh was martyred in Ferozepur, Punjab, in 1990.

During the programme, Minister Jaiveer Singh, Minister Rakesh Sachan, Minister Manoj Pandey, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dinesh Singh, MLA Aditi Singh and several other public representatives were present.
