Ujjain: Union health minister Dr Harshvardhan presented ‘safe bhog place’ certificate to Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) under blissful hygienic offering to god (BHOG) scheme.
State safe bhog nodal officer Arvind Kumar Pithrod received the award on behalf of MTMC during a function organised by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) at New Delhi on Friday to mark ‘World Food Safety Day’.
According to MTMC administrator Avadhesh Sharma, as MTMC collector-cum-ex-officio chairman Shashank Mishra could not reach Delhi, Pithod received the award which has been conferred upon Mahakaleshwar Temple. Among 12 Jyotirlingas of the country only Mahakal Jyotirlingam was selected for the award under BHOG and Street Hub categories.
According to joint-collector and food department in-charge Shaily Kanash, annakshetra which is run by the MTMC free-of-cost, laddoo prasad manufacturing unit and nearby food establishments were included in the safe bhog place scheme of the FSSAI.
She informed that the district food officers conducted inspection of the said units continuously and also carried out gap audit. Likewise, concerned employees of the MTMC were also imparted training by authorised trainers in association with food Safety Services, Nagpur.
