Dev Prabodhani Ekadashi celebrated with gaiety

Ujjain: Festival of Dev Prabodhani Ekadashi was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm on Wednesday. It is believed that Gods and Goddesses wake up after long sleep of four months on this day. With this day, the marriage season begins.

Shri Krishna- Tulsi Vivah programmes were organised on the occasion of Dev Prabodhani Ekadashi on Wednesday. Lord Vishnu woke up after long sleep of four months on this day. City celebrated the occasion with gusto by performing pujan of Lord Vishnu. Earthen lamps were lighted in the evening while sugar cane was brought for forming Tulsi Vivah Mandap and worship. This day is celebrated as Chhoti Deepawali.

Kids were excited as they were busy bursting crackers. The Ekadashi festival is considered as one of the important festivals of Hindus.Auspicious occasion like marriages, griha pravesh and other auspicious programmes begin from this day. Tulsi- Lord Saligram vivah was organised at Dwarkadhish Gopal Mandir in the evening on Wednesday.

Several religious programmes were organized at Shrinath temple at Dhaba Road and others.Markets seemed to be decked up on the occasion of Ekadashi. Vendors started selling sugar cane and pujan ingredients since morning.
