MCC (Purple) after some indifferent start, struck a purple patch as they defeated “Whites” by six wickets in the Elite division of the MCC Pro-40 League, played at Oval Maidan here yesterday. This was their third win and thus  stay in contention for the top honours.

 Making a disastrous starter after opting to bat, MCC (White) were bowled out for 117 with  spinner Manoj Dhuria struck telling blows with four for 22.  Chasing 118, Dalron Rodriques hit up 67 to take them home with  six wickets in hand.

Meanwhile on the adjacent plot, MCC (Green) outplayed RP Cricket Academy  by seven wickets to stay in the title hunt for top honours. Electing to bat first, RPCA  were dismissed for 157  with none of their batters could succeed  in scoring half century.

In reply, “Greens”  top order led by Ankush Paswan and Amanat batted without taking undue risks  to take their team home with just loss of three wickets.

 Brief scores: (White 117 all out (Manoj Dhuria 4/22) lost to MCC (Purple) 118/4 (Dalron MCC Rodriques 67) by 6 wkts.

RPCA 157 all out (Sudhir Yadav 49,  Kumar Kaushik 35n.o. lost to MCC (Green) 158/3 (62, Amanat Hussain Ankush Paswan 41) by 7 wkts.
