During a recent WPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and UP Warriorz, spinner Sneh Rana made her debut for RCB, replacing Joshita VJ in the playing XI. Rana had joined RCB as a replacement for the injured Shreyanka Patil.

A humorous moment occurred during the game when RCB’s official X account posted about Rana’s brilliant bowling in the second innings. However, Rana’s official account also quoted the post, even though she was on the field at the time.

This mistake, made by her social media manager, quickly went viral, amusing fans. Later, Rana apologized on X, clarifying that her manager had mistakenly posted during the match.

''Apologies. Last evenings posts during the match were wrongly posted by my manager.''

UP Warriorz registered victory in first super over of WPL history

Despite RCB’s strong position in the match, UP Warriorz staged a comeback in the Super Over. Kim Garth bowled exceptionally well, restricting Grace Harris and Chinelle Henry to just eight runs. Surprisingly, RCB did not send Ellyse Perry who had earlier played a stunning knock of 90* off 56 balls to bat in the Super Over.

Instead, Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh took the crease, but England’s Sophie Ecclestone delivered a fantastic over, giving away just four runs and securing a thrilling victory for UP Warriorz.

Although RCB lost, they remained at the top of the WPL 2025 points table with four points from four matches, thanks to a superior net run rate of +0.619. UP Warriorz’ win helped them move up to third place, overtaking Delhi Capitals, with a net run rate of +0.167, just behind RCB and Mumbai Indians.
