Bangladesh keeper-batter Jaker Ali celebrated his half-century in 'Pushpa' style in the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy clash against India at the Dubai International Stadium. A video of the same surfaced on social media as the right-handed batter made the gesture and the dressing room clapped for his spirited knock against the mighty Indian side.
Walking in at 35/5, Jaker was fortunate to survive the hat-trick ball from Axar Patel as Indian captain Rohit Sharma dropped a dolly at first slip. The 37-year-old pounded the pitch in frustration but Jaker has made it count, getting to his half-century off 87 balls in the 36th over with a brace.

Team India wreck Bangladesh's top-order after Najmul Hossain Shanto opts to bat first
Meanwhile, the toss went in Bangladesh's favour and the Tigers opted to bat first. Nevertheless, Rohit Sharma said he wanted to field first.
However, India made their chance count as Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana struck in their first over of the innings, dismissing Soumya Sarkar and Najmul Hossain Shanto, respectively. Shami also dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz, while Axar Patel got the better of Tanzid Tamim and Mushfiqur Rahim.
However, Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy have steadied their innings quite well and have already stitched a 100-run stand. At the time of writing this, Shami had dismissed Jaker for 68 off 114 deliveries for his third wicket.
India were the finalists of the 2017 edition, having lost to arch-rivals Pakistan by 180 runs in the final.
