At the BCCI's Naman Awards ceremony, Rohit Sharma gives a hilarious response when he was asked about his hobby by Smriti Mandhana. She asked him about a hobby that his teammates often tease him about.

BCCI posted a video on social media of the same where Rohit responded with a witty remark, acknowledging that his teammates joke about him forgetting things, like his wallet or passport. However, he playfully dismissed it, saying those incidents happened nearly two decades ago.

"My teammates tease me for forgetting. Forgetting is not a hobby. They say I forgot my wallet, I forget my passport which is not true. That was two decades back," Rohit said.

Mandhana also asked about Rohit's daughter, Samaira, and whether she plays cricket. Rohit shared that she enjoys playing cricket at home but clarified it's just for fun, not a serious pursuit.

"We play cricket in the house. It is just for fun. Nothing to do with it. She comes back from school late and she has got classes. Just before she goes to class, we play for fun. She likes batting, just like anyone who starts playing cricket," he said.

Talking about the busy cricket calendar, Rohit emphasized the importance of staying prepared for the next challenge. "The ICC trophy comes every year now. There is no time to take the pedal off the gas.

You have to be ready for the challenge. We won the T20 World Cup and now look forward to the next one. A lot of guys are playing domestic cricket, lots of them are playing international cricket as well."

What's next for Rohit Sharma?

After poor performance in Ranji trophy against Jammu & Kashmir, Rohit will be getting ready for India's upcoming ODI series against England, which will serve as preparation for the Champions Trophy starting February 19.

India’s first match in the Champions Trophy is against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a game against Pakistan on February 23. Their final league match will be against New Zealand on March 2.
